The Wonderdog Walk for Normal Moments is a fundraising event to celebrate the role our wonderful pets play in our health and well-being. The event takes place at the Ned Brown Meadow in Busse Woods. This is accessed from the Golf Road entrance to the park. If you enter Ned Brown Meadow into your GPS, you will find us. If you enter Busse Woods, you’ll be sent to the wrong park entrance. Once you enter off Golf Road, stay to your left. We’ll be checking people in at the 2nd shelter on your left. Watch for our sign. Maps of the location and route will be available soon. Please note that our route is not part of the paved paths. We meander through meadows and along forest edges. Please wear appropriate footwear! All dogs must remain on leash for the duration of the event. A liability waiver will be available online soon or can be signed at the event. The choice to allow your dog to interact with other dogs is a personal one and all attendees are asked to recognize and respect this, being courteous to other dog owners.
We’d like to extend a big thanks to our rescue partner, Fetching Tails (fetchingtailsfoundation.org) providing “Rent-a-Dogs” for this event. If you don’t have a pooch of your own, you can sign up to borrow one for the duration of the walk…and just in case you fall in love with your temporary friend, Fetching Tails staff will be on hand to help you make it permanent!
Mark Faragoi, his dog Riley, and some of their amazing friends will be there as our special guests. Among many credits, Mark and Riley have participated in the invitation-only Purina Pro Plan Incredible Dog Challenge and have appeared the Late Show With David Letterman. Performances will take place at 10:30 and 12:30 and all Wonderdog Walk participants are welcome to watch the fun! Q&A with the trainers/owners will be available after each performance.
In addition to the antics on our “main stage”, we’re also happy to have Rachel Fein of Cloud K9 Academy on site doing training demos and answering your individual training questions.
